YallaBus ("us", "we", or "our") operates the website www.yallabus.com ("Site") and our app ("YallaBus App”). We'll refer to the Site and YallaBus App together as "the Platform" (“Service”).
Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
Types of Data Collected
- Personal Information
We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us when you create an account, publish content, fill any online forms in the Platform. When required this information may include your email address, name, phone number, address, or other Personal Information. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of some of the Platform's features. When you log in using Facebook or Google, we do not send them any data about you, and we do not collect any information from them. Users who are uncertain about what information is mandatory are welcome to contact us.
- Places and Preferences
Regardless of whether you have a YallaBus account, you may choose to share with us information on your location, places and preferences, such as Home, Work, Saved Places, recent searches and other travel preferences. Any of the information we collect from you may be used to provide you with personalized journey-planning suggestions and travel options. We also store and analyze this data in aggregate to improve the YallaBus App (for example, by ranking the journey results options or potentially create new bus routes) to better serve you.
- Location Information
We collect and analyze journey start locations and end points destinations when using the App. If you’ve enabled your device to provide location information, we collect and use your current location information as determined through data such as GPS, mobile phone towers, and WiFi.
- Messages and Direct Communications
Any message you send to us, including in-App survey questions, problem reports, queries submissions, concerns or comments regarding the Platform, also contain details that we process in order to fix problems in the Platform and reply to your communications. These messages contain details such as the type of phone you're using, your service provider, whether you've enabled the location permissions in your device or not and your location at the moment you contacted us.
- Non personal information
When you open the Platform our servers automatically record information that your device sends. This data may include information such as your device's IP address and location, device name and version, the hardware models, operating system type and version, language preferences, information you search for in our Platform, access times and dates, and other statistics. This information is necessary for us to diagnose bugs and improve the App.
- Log and Usage Information
YallaBus collects information about when and how you’re using it each time you interact with the Platform. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and the number of features clicks, the time spent on the Platform, the searches you make, the features and journey results you click on, pages visited, app crashes and other system activity. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, fixing bugs and preventing App crashes, tracking users' movement on the Platform to constantly offer you useful features.
YallaBus uses ‘cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including users’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the user accessed or visited. Although they identify a user's device, cookies do not reveal the name, email address or other obvious identifiers of users. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our Platform content based on your browser type and/or other information.
- User feedback on our App
We receive feedback on our App in the form of ratings and reviews. We use this information to improve the YallaBus experience for our users and to help ensure that YallaBus is reliable.
Use of collected information
Any of the information we collect from you may be used to personalize your experience and provide you with relevant transport information; improve our Platform and identify issues with the operation of the App; send notifications emails such as password reminders, updates, marketing campaigns etc; verify your identity and carry out research on users' journey option choices to improve the App. Non-Personal Information collected is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding Platform traffic and usage. This statistical information is not otherwise aggregated in such a way that would identify any particular user of the system.
Request Access to your Personal Data
You have a legal right to request access to a copy of the personal information about you collected by YallaBus. In order to do so, contact us at [email protected] including details about what personal information you're looking for. You will need to have created an account in order for us to provide you with your information.
Delete your Personal Data
We store your personal information for as long as we need it to operate our Platform unless you request to delete the personal information stored by YallaBus by contacting us by email on [email protected]. Note that residual copies may take longer to be removed from our backup systems.
We offer electronic newsletters to which you may voluntarily subscribe at any time. You may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails or by contacting us at [email protected]
Security of Data
We secure information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards in an effort to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of Personal Information in its control and custody. However, no data transmission over the Internet or wireless network can be guaranteed. Therefore, while we strive to protect your Personal Information, you acknowledge that (i) there are security and privacy limitations of the Internet which are beyond our control; (ii) the security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and our Mobile Application cannot be guaranteed; and (iii) any such information and data may be viewed or tampered with in transit by a third-party, despite best efforts.
In the event we become aware that the security of the Platform has been compromised or users Personal Information has been disclosed to unrelated third parties as a result of external activity, including, but not limited to, security attacks or fraud, we reserve the right to take reasonably appropriate measures, including, but not limited to, investigation and reporting, as well as notification to and cooperation with law enforcement authorities. In the event of a data breach, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users, if we believe that there is a reasonable risk of harm to the user as a result of the breach or if notice is otherwise required by law. When we do, we will send you an email.
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.
· Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

Sentry is a crash and error Reporting Vendor. We use Sentry to report on crashes and errors you experience with the App with our backend so we can fix those.

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children"). If you are a minor, you must have the authorization of your legal guardian or parent to be able to use the Platform. If you are 12 years old or younger, you do not have the right to access and use the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 12. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at [email protected] If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
